Movie Review: A Celebration of Differences and Embracing of Impairments!- Finding Dory

***Spoiler Alert***
We haven't forgotten the time when little Nemo had us drooling. Swinging to it's magic. Wanting for more! And exactly then, Disney- Pixar comes up to serve the story of the forgetful fish, one of the most likeable characters in animation history, Dory. Not to mention how much everybody loves Ellen DeGeneres, she is magnificent with her voice acting. And no, the movie is not only a funny, cute animated flick but also carries a message!

The movie kicks off with Dory's childhood, with Charlie and Jenny, Dory's parents teaching her to deal with her forgetfulness (The baby Dory is one of the cutest character I've ever seen BTW..!). With that dream in her head, Dory wakes up just to forget about her parents, again, being just her usual self. However, with fragments of her past coming back into her memory, Dory remembers that she's got a family and that she needs to find them. With only one goal in mind, Dory starts a journey, a journey that Marlin is totally against but decides to help Dory, to pursue her parents. Put in a Septopus (an Octopus which has lost a tentacle), a mentally impaired seal, a mentally impaired bird, a visually impaired shark, a beluga whale that can't echo-locate and you've got yourself a great and funny adventure that's gonna give you the feels!

The movie is well crafted. It's so well crafted that it never feels like being out of the place. From Nemo's sarcastic comments to his dad to Hank's paranoia, the film keeps entertaining and has you giggle all the time. The very brief moment of "I like sand, sand is squishy" will stay with you long past you've left the theaters. The movie is in a way very different from it's predecessor, 'Finding Nemo', as the adventure is not exactly about finding Dory physically but more of finding back Dory in a philosophical way. The climax puts you at the edge of your seat and also makes you laugh your hearts out. Apart from all of that, movie offers stunning visuals, perfect music and more likeable characters.

The characters are chosen in a very peculiar way. With most of the characters having some kind of impairment, the movie tries to put forward a great message as well as entertaining. Though the message kinda gets overlooked by all the positivism and entertainment, it's not tough to see through with a little evaluation. The theme reminded me one of Tyrion's famous quotes, "Once you've accepted your flaws, no one can use them against you!". Kind of awesome!
